Service improvements – Firewall and Infrastructure refresh

This summer will see substantial investment by Accesspoint Technologies. We already have plans in place to replace the central firewall cluster in our core datacenter and in addition we will be extending our core hardware platform to utilise the latest technology available in the market and improve the overall performance on our hosted platforms.

This investment will focus on high-speed storage clusters and will provide significantly increased processing power to our core backbone.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Platform Service

Accesspoint have recently introduced the addition of a new Business Continuity offering (Zerto) to the portfolio of services. Utilising our business continuity platform, customers can now improve their overall disaster recovery (DR) procedures by replicating their entire environment to a secondary datacenter. From here they can then activate services should their primary platform become unavailable. This feature extends the current business continuity services such as; storage replication and server snapshotting which Accesspoint offer, as standard with their core services to clients.

Technical Director, Victor Van Der Poel commented;

Making use of our new Business Continuity platform, customers can select the desired RPO and RTO’s required by their business to be in a position to fail over to a secondary environment in a relatively short period of time. We now provide a faster and more reliable service for greater peace of mind.

Now in their 15th year, the LALYs are one of the longest standing legal awards, originally created to acknowledge and celebrate those lawyers who go the extra mile for their clients.

Once again Accesspoint are very pleased to announce that we are continuing our support and sponsorship of the LALY’s (Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year awards) event and our chosen award for sponsorship this year is ‘Immigration and Asylum’.

We would like to wish all nominees across the board the very best of luck and we look forward to seeing you there. Baroness Doreen Lawrence OBE to present awards at the ceremony on 5th July at ETC.Venues, Liverpool Street, 155 Bishops Gate, EC2M 3YD.

LAPG is the leading membership organisation for legal aid lawyers, providing a wide range of services and support.

Though technology can help firms drive efficiencies and improve client service, it’s important for them to have the expertise behind them to help them make the right decisions. Plenty of firms invest in solutions without thinking about whether the solution is right for their firm – or how the firm will adapt to the new system.

The firm chose to outsource its IT help desk to Accesspoint Technologies, to support its 54 users, providing them with advice and being able to fix IT problems remotely. In addition, we have in-house personnel who are on site to provide total integration for the firm’s on-going IT requirements.

Our firm’s mandate at Dawson Cornwell has evolved considerably over the past year, and we are now helping the firm to implement a new practice management solution.

Further to a new PMS recommendation for their 40 users and subsequent development and training for the Tikit Software, Accesspoint are now actively involved as key strategic business partners helping achieve overall efficiencies and streamlining processes across the firm. Our role has developed in the last 12 months and we are now involved in fulfilling the firm’s longer term goals with full time on site support.

Additionally, through our newly established Accesspoint Media Services business, we are appointed marketing partners. This appointment has seen an in depth strategic review, with refocusing and positioning for the firm, culminating in the design and implementation of a re-branding exercise with a new website launch and ongoing marketing services.

Lawrence Lupin – Founding Director comments;

“Working with Accesspoint has been a revelation. We are now able to put in place procedures and IT/software solutions that we could only have dreamed of a few months ago”.

He then added; “In our experience, it is all very well having the latest IT solutions, but implementing them and making best use of these systems is another story. Consultants in our experience come in and advise on what things should look like and then they disappear leaving you with a large fee note. The difference here is that Accesspoint is making it happen and with the same commitment and dedication you would expect from parties with a vested interest.

We are now working with Accesspoint Media Services and look forward to a brighter long term future working with people who we truly consider as partners.”

NEW STARTER – Scott Brown (Digital Services Manager)

A career in IT has always been a natural goal of mine. Being around IT all of my life, backed with a strong artistic flair, it has aided me in achieving an exciting new job role of Digital Services Manager at Accesspoint.

After previously working for some large profile clients in various business areas, heading up Digital Services at Accesspoint allows me to focus and specialise 100% in Legal IT. From creating exciting new websites for Law firms. Then raising and improving their market profile to the online presence of each business and ultimately increasing their business success, it’s great to see positive results on a daily basis.

It’s great to work in a role that I am truly passionate about and to be surrounded by a team of very intelligent and passionate people, who are always on hand to bounce ideas around and achieve top quality end results.

NEW STARTER – Dawn Breeze (Office Administrator)

I have worked in administration for many years, with experience across various business sectors. Among other roles, I’ve worked for the Metropolitan Police as a Station Officer, run my own pre-school and been the Office Manager for a Church. I love to put systems in place that make sense for the people that are affected by them, and for the context they’re used in.

My goal is for the office to run so smoothly that no one is aware of my role in that happening.

I’m excited to be working for a dynamic, growing company, with people who care about their clients and the excellence of the products and services they provide.
